« It is our choices….. that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. »
What really is a choice ? According to the Cambridge dictionary, a choice is »an act or the possibility of choosing ».
But these choices have a massive impact on our lives. For example, when we do something in our daily lives, we are submitted to different choices which will lead to a good or a bad life and it is our acts which determine who we are. For example, over a lifetime, we have two paths in front of us: the one that will take us to a good situation, and the other to bad things. Also, choices determine who we are because according to the character of the person in front of us, we make choices and, I think it’s thanks to this that we recognize many persons. They determine if we are a wise person.
Moreover, we can identify a person with their choices. Let’s take an example : a wise person will follow reason and reflection, as opposed to a lost person who doesn’t know which path to follow. Just note that for me, there aren’t bad choices because whatever you do, the choice is always good. Indeed, if you make one choice, it’s because you know it is what you wanted. The only difference is that one path will take you to good opportunities, grateful things and the other path will take you to bad things.
We can link it with the notion of true intelligence which is not the fact to have good marks in school but above all the maturity, the reflection that was conducted by the person. A person with bad marks but who’s mature, who reflects and who understands others is more interesting than a person with goods marks but with no maturity and who is stupid in his reflexion.
